Positive Vision Cameroon(PVC)

History

Positive Vision Cameroon (PVC) is a not for profit Non-Governmental Organization with registration No 003/E.29/1111/Vol.8/APPB. PVC promotes sustainable development with the main aim of alleviating poverty in Cameroon. PVC has its head office in Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon. PVC has 18 years of proven, tested and trusted experience in humanitarian and community Positive Vision Cameroon (PVC) is a not for profit Non-Governmental Organization with registration No 003/E.29/1111/Vol.8/APPB. PVC promotes sustainable development with the main aim of alleviating poverty in Cameroon. PVC has its head office in Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon. PVC has 18 years of proven, tested and trusted experience in humanitarian and community  development action in Cameroon. PVC has registered remarkable success in the implementation of community development projects in the domain of governance, agriculture, natural resource management, health, GBV, monitoring and evaluation, care of OVCs and surveys. PVC has been at the forefront in the training of newly elected councillors of Kumbo, Jakiri, Wum and Benakuma Councils on their roles, responsibilities and attitude towards the fulfilment of their mandate. Besides, PVC has elaborated several Council Development Plans through participatory diagnosis of community needs, prioritizing these needs and transforming them into feasible and realistic projects thus ensuring good governance at local levels. 

Missions and Objectives

Mission :

Making a positive difference in the lives of people, groups, organizations and the environment through participatory education, training, sensitization, grants and feasibility studies.

Key Achievements

  • PVC has successfully trained 65 CHWs (Community Health Workers) in Santa Health District for the implementation of the CDI (Community Directed Interventions) project funded by the Global Fund. The CHWs carryout Home Visits, Health talks, search for lost to follow up HIV and TB cases and refer to the health facilities where they obtain the counter referral forms, manage simple malaria cases, diarrhea cases and ARI cases and refer complicated ones. Sensitize on the correct use of condoms, conduct malaria RDTs.
  • PVC elaborated a vocational training plan for Belo Council
  • PVC in partnership with COMINSUD succeeded to facilitate the establishment of 400 birth certificate and 20 marriage certificates and 5 death certificates.
  • PVC has carried out needs assessments for various UN agencies and international NGOs to establish the felt needs of people affected by the on going crisis in hard to reach areas.
