Missions and Objectives

MISSION

HEDECS is a non-governmental organization that empowers communities in health and development through sustainable interventions in Cameroon

CORE STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
 Promote disease prevention, reduce morbidity and mortality through our interventions
 Promote and defend the Rights and Freedom of disadvantaged and marginalized groups at the grassroots level
 Empower the disadvantaged communities for poverty mitigation, with knowledge, skills and resources for sustainable and viable secure livelihood
 Ensure greater involvement and visibility of the youths and rural woman in decision making
 Advocate for a change in policies through research and evidence based practices

Key Achievements

  • HEDECS in collaboration with WHO and Doctors without Boarders capacitates AGYW in GBV and sexual and reproductive health and rights giving them a ”voice”Fight against maternal, neonatal and infant mortality in the North-West and South-West Regions,
  • HEDECS commemorating world AIDS DAY 2020 in Bamenda and Dschang
  • HEDECS trained 18 community health workers and 6 staff members directly and to reach out to 2000 community members indirectly
  • HEDECS has put in place 41 community health workers who in various health districts who carry out search and referal of pregnant women for ANC , carry out community testing of HIV and teatment of simple malaria cases , this is done through home visits and educative talks . this community heath workers have carried out 8640 home visits during the course of the year  2020
  • HEDECS provides institutional strengthening through donations of medical equipment and supplies to improve on health care delivery in the Bafut District Hospital North West Region
